1.Bit.ly : Bit.ly has become the most powerful url shortening service. Rather than visiting the Bit.ly site, just click on this bookmarklet (after you drag it to your browser) and generate the Bit.ly shortening link for the webpage you are viewing.

2.BugmeNot : You visit a site and need to login to check its content. However, the signup process is tedious and you wan to avoid it . Just click on this bookmarklet on your browser and it will open up a Bugmenot window and show you some free login ids and passwords . Just use those login ids and you can check the site easily. I find this one of the most useful bookmarklet.

3.Find Tweets On Current Page: Want to find how many tweets a webpage has received on twitter ? Just click on this link once it is on your bookmarks bar.

4.Search The Current Site : This Google site search bookmarklet enables you to search within the current site without needing to open any search engine. Cool, isn’t it?

5.Download Current Video:You are viewing a Youtube/Metacafe/Myspace  Video and want to download it. Just click on this bookmarklet and download the video easily. You will need to visit  their homepage to get the bookmarklet as it is quite heavy.

6.Translate to English : You are viewing a page in French and want to see the English version . No need to open the Google Translate; just click on this bookmarklet and see the English translation.

7.Edit Current Page: Do you want to edit the current page and use it somewhere? Just click on this bookmarklet.

8.Check CSS,Javascript On Current Page : This firebug bookmarklet shows you immediately the javascripts on the current page and the CSS or the HTML if you desire. Very useful for developers.

9. Show Password: This is one of my favourite bookmarklets. It shows any passwords that are there on a form on a current page. It is very useful since we are getting so used to browsers auto filling the passwords for us that we sometimes need to check what password we are using !.

10.Delicious Bookmarks : Need to check how many bookmarks the current site has on Delicous? Just use this bookmarklet.

11.Twit This : For the tweeters, this can be useful . If you are logged in to Twitter, just click on this bookmarklet to Tweet the current page.

12.Digg This : Digg the current page with this bookmarklet.

13.WHOis : Want to check the WhoIs details on the site you are viewing? Just use this bookmarklet.

14:Gmail This URL : Want to Gmail the current URL to your friends? Click on this bookmarklet and it opens your gmail composed email with the url in the email body. Just add address and send !.

Is there a way by which you can easily remember almost all your shortened links ? I think so – and its  very easy to do so .

Making Easy to remember short links for your own site/blog

Let’s say I want to create easy to remember short links for  the posts on my blog.  I use services like Tinyurl and Bit.ly as these services allow custom name on the url. So what I do is that I create a custom name in two parts :

First Part of the shortened URL : It is fixed ie for my blog  Bestonlinetools.org  it is “ bot-“  (bot is the shortened version of Best Online Tools and a character ( – ) is used to make the custom name difficult to copy.

Second part of the shortened URL : For the second part of the custom URL , I just take the most important word from the post which I can easily remember.Now if I want to create a short url for

1. For one of my most popular posts 50 best websites to download free mp3 songs , I will use ‘songs’ as the second part of my short URL custom name. So my shortened url becomes like

bit.ly/bot-songs or tinyurl.com/bot-songs

2. Similarly the shortened URL for my post 50 Websites to Download Free Ebooks becomes bit.ly/bot-ebooks  or tinyurl.com/bot-ebooks after adding the second part of url “ebooks”

Now I am not going to forget (I hope !) that the standard fixed element of my shortened URLs is ‘bot-‘ and I have to just keep on adding new words after it to create short links for different posts on my site.

It also makes it much easier to access these links if you are using a mobile to access certain pages on your site . Also, using the same custom name on different sites also greatly reduces the possibility that your links may be deleted by an act of error by any site.

Is it possible to create such  links for  pages from large sites ?

Many of you will think that it would be easier to do for smaller sites but not for big sites as they would have millions of short links already created for them. Lets see ! .

Lets say I want to create short links for the pages on Google.com

I chose the fixed name (first part) of the URL for Google as “goo”

Now if I want to create short link for some searches on Google , this is how I do it :

Google Search Results for :

1. Web2.0 trends : tinyurl.com/goo-web2 or bit.ly/goo-web2
2. Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince : tinyurl.com/goo-harryhalf  or  bit.ly/goo-harryhalf

Such easy to remember short urls can also be created for pages which do not have a long url, but you just want to remember them easily without searching for their exact URL. Eg, here I have created Short URLs for Google pages like :

Google Talk :   tinyurl.com/goo-talk

Google Books :tinyurl.com/goo-books

You can play around with different word combinations to find the ones that are most easily remembered by you and which are much less likely to be taken up by others. Using special characters greatly reduces the risk of others creating similar links like yours and almost gives you a sort of fixed sub domain !

Creating these short links for the important links that you share or visit often has made my life simpler and I hope it does the same for you.

1. If you are blogger, find the incoming new links to your posts from last 10 years to last 24 hours.
2. Find new content on any site within a time period (say last week).
3. Find the webpages on your site which were crawled in last 1 month,week, 24 hours etc

1. New Content on Techcrunch: Lets find out the webpages where new content has been added by Techcrunch on their site. We just search “site:techcrunch.com” and get this result for last 24 hours

2. Now if we simply search “Techcrunch.com” and chose the last 24 hours option, we will find the results showing all mentions of Techcrunch.com in last 24 hours alongwith the URLs of Techcrunch.com that have updated. See the result here

You can do much more and get information on your own site/blog and that of others using Timedsearch.com . Checkout some more of Google Operators and you can play around with them using this site. 

Photoshop is one of the best software ever made – if I may use the superlatives. However, the only problem with photoshop is that Its Too Expensive.

However, for those who are not able to lay their hands on Photoshop, here is a list of some Great and Free Photoshop alternatives . These softwares are almost as good as photoshop and for some functionalities – even better.

1. Gimp : Everybody seems to know about Gimp as a Free alternative to Photoshop. Hence I would not write much about it except that it works on any platform and is a terrific software to use with a number of free plugins available and a good number of tutorials.

2. Paint.net : For windows users, it is cool replacement for MSPaint.It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools.An active and growing online community provides friendly help, tutorials, and plugins. With a light size of 1.6mb, it is available in 8 languages besides English and can be downloaded here

3. Artweaver : Artweaver comes very close to Photoshop and includes layer management, pen tablet support, image cloning, transparency and a number of other filters that we find in Photoshop. It may not be as slick as Photohshop for viewing but its feature set is quite similar to that of Photoshop.Its free to download for windows users and has plugins available for at least 15 languages but a few tutorials here and here.

4. Pixia : Originally designed in Japanese, this software is a powerful image editor . There are, however, some tutorials available in English as well as some video tutorials.The software was originally created for editing Anime/Manga, but it is quite a capable image editor in itself.

5. Inkscape : Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.It supports many advanced SVG features  like markers, clones, alpha blending etc. It may not exactly replace Photoshop, but if you are looking for a drawing programme which uses SVG file format, then Inkscape is a good option.Checkout for tutorials here.

6. Cinepaint : An open source application, it is one of the best image retouching tools available which supports high fidelity color upto 32-bits.Compare this with 8-bits of Gimp and it surely stands out above Gimp. Besides , it has many other features like Gallery quality printing, Color Management System, High Dynamic Range etc which make it useful. Check for Download , Plugins and tutorials.

7. Picnik : Picnik provides a web based photo editing tool which provides various options to manipulate your pictures online like resizing, removing red eyes, editing colour saturation etc. Since no download or even registration is required, it is quite easy and fast to start with . However, the options to edit the images are not as large as in softwares like Photoshop , Gimp etc  – which is to be expected since limited editing can be done online. You can make use of various tools available with Picnik.

8. Fotoflexer : Is another cool web based image editor. It can help you to remove blemishes,change skin or hair color, morph photos etc.You can drag and drop photos behind each other thus actually creating layer like effects.For a quick idea, see the demo here. You can edit sample photos also provided on the site to have a feel of the tool before you actually start using your own photographs.

9. Photoshop  Express : It is a free software from Adobe with many functionalities that you will find in Photoshop – though logically enough you will not find all the advanced features like layers, filters etc. But for a basic user, it is quite useful to edit the photos online and use the Free 2GB space provided by Adobe. However, you need a decent internet connection to use the software as the going is little slow.

10. Aviary’s Phoenix : This is a very powerful web based image editing programme which you can use by just signing up free. The interface has a great resemblance to that of Photoshop and unlike most other online web editors, you can edit using Layers, Brushes, Filters and lots more. The tool is based on Adobe Flash and hence is reasonably fast even on slow internet connection.

11. Photofiltre : A French product, but available in English also, it enables application of large number of filters and allows simple to advanced enhancements /editing of the images.Check out the tutorials for some quick lessons.

12. Magic Extreme : MAGIX Xtreme Photo Designer is a powerful yet easy to use application that allows you to edit your photos quickly and precisely.It enables you to retouch blemishes, scratches or tears on old photos, and use the cloning tool, magix wand, and other pro tools to create impressive collages.In addition to this, you also can select background and objects in a picture  by simply right-clicking on them and add impressive perspective effects. And at 1.43 Mb it is a small software to install

13. Photo Pos Lite : Photo Pos Lite is a free lite version of the award-wining photo editor Photo Pos Pro(which costs USD 49/-). Photo Pos Lite contains many of Photo Pos Pro’s tools and features. The software provides support for scanners and digital cameras, Various of Image Enhancing and editing tools and functions, Paint Brush Tool, Shapes Tool, Clone Brush Tool, Rich Text Tools, Special Effects, Selection Tools, Simple Gradients and more.

14. Dr Pic :  A simple web based image editor which just enables you to edit your images by simply uploading and applying the 15 + editing tools that are provided on right panel. This tool is suitable for those who want to quick edit images on the fly.

15. Pixenate : Pixenate is another web based image editing tool which is simple and easy to use. Compared to some other web based tools mentioned above, it has more options to play around with your images and apply fun effects .

16.  Phixr : Yet another web based image editor. Allows you to create temporary account without signup and edit your images with over 20 tools to edit the images.Not much different from Pixenate or Dr Pic tools mentioned above.

17. Evans Image Editor : Evan’s Image Editor (EIE) is a free image editor that allows for editing and creation of animated or still images. It has several advanced features eg having multiple panel layouts – which allow you to see multiple views of your image while working on it .EIE allows you to select multiple layers/frames at once and perform batch modifications . Allows you to edit frames of a video also.See tutorials.

18. Photobie : Photobie is image editing software that combines features amateurs can use with advanced tools professionals will appreciate. Photobie is free for personal use with no Pro upgrade to pay for — all features are free. Was initially started by the developer (Cheng) for editing the images of his daughter and since then has developed into a full fledged image editing tool.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Firefox plugins are such a great resource for improving productivity on the net. Here is a list of 11 such plugins which are very useful to improve your search experience and productivity.Each of them has been explained with detailed images (and even a video turorial created by us) so that you can have a feel of the plugins even before installing them.

1. WebMynd : Installing this plugin enables you personalize the right-hand side of your search results page with sources such as Wikipedia, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, Amazon,Linkedin,CNN and a number of other sites. So you can actually see results from 5-10  search engines conveniently (can be more though) with one single query. It does not spoil the search experience of the original site (eg Google) since you are getting these results on the right side which is the ad area. It also enables Playback and full-text search your visual browsing history though you can this recording off and on. A very useful application for those who want to do multi-searching.
    

2. Drag and Drop Zones : This is a very powerful plugin which enables one to search multiple search engines of choice easily by dragging and dropping keywords on webpages. After installing it, when you are on a webpage and you want to search a word, just highlight the word – drag the highlighted word – you will see a the image grid of all your selected search engines- drop the word into that engine – get results for your query. 3. Add Search box to Firefox Search bar :  You might have seen many sites which provide a  Firefox search plugin and adding the search box to your firefox search bar becomes easy with this plugin. However, there are many sites where these plugins are not provided. But with this plugin, you can search any site from your firefox searchbar. Just add this plugin and when you are on any site – just place your mouse in its search box  right click  add click on ‘Add to Search Bar. Thus within few seconds, you can search your favourite site from Firefox search bar instead of going to that site and then searching. Cool , isn’t it?  Now I have just right clicked on the search box of Techcrunch.com and added it to my search bar in 3 seconds flat !..And see  how it is done.
   

4. Cloudlet : Adding this firefox plugin enables you to get a Tag Cloud over the search results page of Google, Yahoo and Twitter. It suggest the tags on the basis of your query and provides multiple options . Eg in Google/Yahoo, it will also show you related sites ,clicking on which will search these sites for your query. Its functionality in Twitter is most useful as it enables you to find people who have tweeted about the query, provides a tag cloud over a twitter homepage and clicking on one of the tages  enables you to search that homepage for the keyword. Besides there are various other options to enable you play around. It can be easily turned off with a click.
    
   

5. Search Status : This is one of the most simple but useful search plugin especially for those who like to have a quick evaluation of a site . Once installed in the firefox, it sits in a corner and you can easily evaluate any webpage/website for its
   Alexa Rank  &
   Google Page Rank
   Though sounding simple, you can easily understand a lot about a site by using these two parameters. If the Google PR is high but Alexa Rank is low, it shows that the site is highly linked (and thus respected) but does not get too much traffic. Or if the ALexa Rank is high and the PR is low, then it shows that the site is getting popular fast but Google is yet to recognize it . If both are high, then it speaks high of that site. Alexa rank , however, tends to be more accurate for high traffic sites .And right clicking on the Alexa Rank image brings up many details about the site without needing to open Alexa.com
   

6. Cool Iris : With over 12 million downloads, this plugin provides  a very different search experience . What it does is that it enables you to watch the search results on a 3D wall and lets you scour through thousands of results in a few minutes. It is very pleasing to use and specially useful for those visually inclined.
   

7. Search Keys : Can you want to open Google search results without using the mouse ?
   Well, with this plugin  you can do it. Just install this plugin and you will see a number “1,2,3 etc..” against the search results. If you want to open the first result, just press ‘1’ on your keyboard and the first result will open. Now, one can do the exactly same with your mouse. But using keys is much easier on your hands and once you get used to this , its difficult to use the mouse!
   

8. Cybersearch : This plugin saves you one more step in searching. It makes your firefox location bar a mini search engine in itself. As you type the search query in the location bar, it starts showing search results in a drop down , which may save a good lot of time for quick searches.
   

9. FireGestures : Though this one is strictly not a search plugin , it is very useful for improving every aspect of Firefox usage and affects your search capabilities also.It has numerous functionalities which enable you to :
   -Move between different tabs absolutely easily .
   -Use your mouse scroller to scan hundreds of tabs in a few seconds.
   -Create your own mouse gestures to move back,forward,reload,stop and more…
   

10. Infoaxe : This plugin enables you to automatically bookmark all the pages that you have browsed on all your computers..Means, that you don’t need to bookmark pages , and can access the history of all pages that you have bookmarked , on all your computers and all your browsers.The advantage of this history storage is that when you make Google searches, it shows you results from your web history on the right side (see image below) . Thus you are actually getting results served to you from the web pages that you have visited in the past.But there is a catch. You need to install their toolbar on all your computers and create an account on Infoaxe. I personally do not like installing new toolbars and therefore do not use this plugin.But those who do not have such inhibitions may find it quite useful.  

11. Google Preview : This plugin, though mentioned at the last, is one of the most popular and useful search plugin(with over 100,000 weekly downloads). It inserts preview images on the left side of Google results . It also shows popularity ranks of the websites alongwith so that you can immediately know whether you are opening a  very popular site or not so popular one .
     

1. Download Any Stuff : This search engine comes on top for most categories of downloads and hence has been promoted to number one. It enables you to find all kinds of Free and Full Version Games – not excluding Mobile games . Just type in the name of the game and search. On the search page, you will find the download links. However, if the results are to be further refined , click on the category “Games”.. If you further want to get only Rapidshare or Megaupload links, just change the drop down menu from “Main Search” to “Rapidshare Files” or “Megaupload Files”. Finds almost any game instantly.

2. Big Fish Games : Big Fish has a large collection of downloadable games and provides almost one new game every day . The site works with over 500 game developers and has a very large distribution of games every day (almost 1 million). You will find also find some Full Version Free Games here .

3. Filefront : One of the largest sites for downloading games and files related to games –  official patches,drivers, updates,mod files,softwares etc and has a collection of over 1.5 million files.Many games are available in Full versions , you only have to search for them. Official pages of many game developers are also hosted on this site which enables one to find all the latest patches, mod files etc related to that game.

4. Free Games Download engine : This is a search engine which enables you to search for free games. Just enter the name of any game you want and on the search page click on ‘ Download’ category and you will find a number of links to download that game. It is useful for a fast search on any free game. Alternatively, you may also play that game online from the ‘Play Online’ category.

5. Mod DB : Find Games and Mods development for PC, XBOX, Playstation, Nintendo etc. There are over 3000 FULL VERSION games and a number of demo games, patches etc. Members can add their own games also which can be downloaded by others. Total downloads about 5,000,000

6. Rapidshare Games : Rapidshare is known to all. But not many know that it has a seperate games section where a large number of Free Games, their Mods, Demo Versions, Trailers, Patches etc can be downloaded. Visit the link to find your choice.

7. Bigdownload : Has a large collection of Free games categorised in 25 genres and can be sorted by last updated and most popular. Some of the best games can be found here.

14. RS Download : Providing rapidshare links to over 800 free and full version games, this site can be useful . The games are however not categorised in genres. The site also provides links to software,movies,music downloads .

15. Youplay Time : Again a good site with free games downloads available in categories like Action & Arcade,Card & Board,Mahjong,Puzzle, Word etc .

16. Acid Play : The site has over 1000 free games and some of them are full versions. The games are also listed by their popularity so that you can know which games have been liked by previous users.

18. Phazed DDL : What this site does is that it provides links to files from where the games can be downloaded free. Some of these pages are on their own forums and some of them on other sites and the same are displayed under a frame .

Though most games here are demo versions or those with some other limitations (like time period), collection is so huge that game lovers cannot avoid the site. Check the most popular games from the link given or search from the categories on the left panel.

23. Download Free Games : This is a large site for free downloads of games. Though many of the games are trial or demo versions, there is still a good pick of Free Full Version games . I have given the link to the page from where you can find all the Full Version games. For the rest, you can search within the site.

24. Quick Jump Download  : Boasting over 62 million downloads, this site has games for Nintendo DS, PCs, Play Station 3, PSP , XBox 360,Wii and more. You can find here free games, emulators, hacks, applications, patches, updates and almost anything. Many of the games are Free Full Versions.

1.Windows Live Writer : This is my favourite tool and perhaps one of the best tools currently available to help a blogger blog right from his desktop.It has got some great features like image editing, facility to create photo albums, tables etc. You can literally do anything and much more than what you do online on your blog editor (wordpress,blogger etc).Since the post template is also copied on to your desktop, the formatting etc that is done is retained on the final post.The best part is that all your posts are backed up on the system and you can edit them right from here.There are a host of plugins for Live Writer available which you can download and further add to the functionality of the software.Just download this software and save to your desktop.Configure your blog with the user name and password and you are ready to go. For WordPress blogs, you may have to once “Enable the WordPress, Movable Type, MetaWeblog and Blogger XML-RPC publishing protocols” from the Writing section of your blog.This software can improve blogging productivity by 30-40%. 2.Global Translator : This is a great plugin for wordpress bloggers. What it does is that it allows your blog posts to be converted in a number of languages( 34 currently). Though you can also use Google,Bablefish and other translators , the difference with this plugin is that it converts your URLs by and stores the converted data .Thus the URL on your blog when converted to Italian would look like yourblogname.com/it/your_post_title  . This content is picked up by Search Engines as fresh content and enables you to get some traffic from people searching in native languages. So, literally you can multiply your content upto 34 times !..As of now, there is no information on whether Google disapproves of this plugin, but I hope it does not in the future also as great new content is being created in native languages.

3.Web2PDF: Do you write great posts which you think can be of use to your readers as a PDF file to be referred to offline? If yes, this service allows you to add a small code snippet to your posts so that anyone can click and download the post as a PDF.The service is free and there is no limit to the downloads, but it does take some time to download the file.Many bloggers though may not be comfortable with the idea that there posts can be easily downloaded and there will be a fear of losing traffic also. However, one golden rule always helps- “If your readers benefit from your blog, so will you”. See how it works

4.Blogdesk : Blogdesk is another desktop publishing tool which is Free and optimized for blog systems – WordPress,  Blogger, Drupal,Serendipity and Express Engine. Using this tool also cuts down your blogging time and enables you to focus on your content.

5.Outbrain : Its always nice to know what the readers think about your post and the best way to know that is from comments and from incoming links. However, not every reader has time to comment or link to your post. But if you provide them a widget to rate your post, they can do so easily in a click. This plugin for WordPress easily allows readers to click and vote their liking. The plugin can be simply searched from the control panel in WordPress 2.7.1 and added with a click.However, the plugin also displays related links from other sites below the rating stars . This may be treated as a value addition by some bloggers and a diversion of traffic by others. Its your take..

6.Google Friend Connect : This is a great scoial networking tool from Google and it is being used by all kinds of sites including blogs. What it does in a simple way is that it allows you to create a community around your blog. In a few simple steps, you can get the code for the various widgets provided by them and which can be added to a new widget (Text) on your blog . The visitors come and can login with their Google, Yahoo, Aim and Open ID and they become a member on your site. Besides, you can also select various social gadgets widgets like Game widget, Wall Gadget (for comments) or even create your own custom widget to be put up at the blog. This service of Google is getting viral and giving tough competition to MyBloglog . Besides helping you know more about your blog followers,  it will help you to get traffic from visitors on other sites as they see the link on the profiles. I  feel that by next year , it will one of the most used gadget on millions of sites around the world.

7.PostRank Widget: It is another useful widget for bloggers where with the addition of simple code in your widget box. This widget shows the ranking of your posts with the highest viewed post being given 10 points and other posts given relative points. It gives a very clear idea to the visitors that what is popular on this blog and how much relatively speaking. Humans by nature like sorted information and this tool helps do it on blogs. The widget is unobtrusive as it displays a small logo of Post Rank at top right and does not interfere with the design of your blog.

8.Technology Search: If you are a technology blogger, this might be useful for you. This search engine (powered by Google) enables me to do exactly that. It searches all the Top Technology Blogs(more than 100) and Top Technology Forums , New sites etc . So if I want to know what have top bloggers written on – say – ‘Video Editing’ , I just make a search and click on the category ‘Top Tech Blogs’ and immediately I can see the posts regarding ‘Video Editing’. However, some posts might be as old as 2004 and may not be relevant today. So I just use the time drop down bar and see what they have written in the last 6 months or last one month or even last week and so on. And for finding what people have discussed in reputed forums, I just click on the ‘Top Tech Forums’ category and get the posts. This tool helps me a lot in finding the right and authentic information on tech topics quickly .

9.Social Marker & Only Wire:You have created great post and you want the world to know about it.There are some good services which can be used to submit your posts to multiple social bookmarking sites. Social Marker and Only Wire are among the good ones. Create an account on Social Marker or Only Wire and you can submit your posts to over 160 bookmarking sites. Both provide a submission bookmarklet which rests in the bookmarks folder. However, there is word of caution. Submit only selected content from your site as it might be considered as spamming by these sites. Also, submit posts to only  few bookmarking sites –about 8-10 as search engines may not like seeing links coming to your blog from so many bookmarking sites.

10.Scribefire: With over 1.5 million downloads, this add-on is a must for Firefox lovers who blog. Compatible with a wide variety of blogging services, this add on enables you to blog on the fly. Select any text on a webpage and and right click to make a new post with that text(formatting retained) , drag and drop images from the page into the post, save drafts,share posts on social sites,upload files via FTP and more.. 11.Ping.fm : Though more applicable for micro blogging, it is a lovely tool to enable post and update all your blogs and social networks at once.You can select from over 30 blogging/micro-blogging networks and just with a single message, you can update all your networks or a select group out of the these.These messages can be sent from their web editor ,emails, instant messengers,mobile phones etc. The links are converted to a short URL like ping.fm/a12cd  . No formatting options are available and hence it is suitable for bloggers who like to blog short,sweet,fast and on the move.

12.Auto Copy : We bloggers , at many times, need to copy text from various webpages and use that in the post. The process involves using SELECTING THE TEXT, Pressing CONTROL C and then CONTROL V . Sometimes it does not go on correctly and we have to the whole thing again. Auto copy is a firefox extension which copies any text as soon as you highlight it and you can paste it anywhere. Though it does not sound as giving too much value, once you use it , it will be difficult to work without it !

13.Copy Link and Text : One of the most irritating activities is to copy a link and its text . Eg if you have to copy this text along with the link, you will have to first right click and Copy Link Location, Paste it and then come back to Copy the Text and then again paste it properly. However, with this firefox extension, you can easily copy both the link as well as the text in one go.This again saves a lot of time.Via Lifehacker

14.Yahoo Media Player: If you have often post Mp3 links in your posts, then use put the small code provided by Yahoo Media Player and it will auto detect the links and create an embedded player which is unobtrusive and expands when clicked only.

Well another new feature of Youtube Videos I like is the High Quality HD videos. I thought it would be a good idea if there was a firefox search plugin for searching just these high quality youtube videos. So here it is – it also sorts the results by viewcount.

Let me mention here a couple of things. These plugins have nothing to do with Youtube or Google. These were just created by us to enable better searching of Youtube Videos.

1.PDFonline :

PDFonline : This is one of the simplest online PDF to Word convertor services. Just upload a PDF file and wait for few seconds to get the link to download the Word file. No Emails or registrations are required and the results are quite good. See the the original PDF file and the Word converted files here.The format of the file is retained after conversion.

2.FreePdfConvert :

FreePdfConvert : This is a great source of easily converting PDF to Word with a number of cool options. 4.PDFUNdo.net : PDFUNdo.net is again real simple to use and doesn’t
require your email address or registration. You just upload your PDF document and when the conversion is complete, download your Word document. However, password protected documents are not supported.The site was a little slow in converting my document and took a little more than a few minutes to do so .Their desktop application can also be downloaded for the same purpose.

5.Zamzar : This site provides the option of converting converting files from and to a large number of formats including almost all Image and Doc formats. For those who want to convert their video and audio files to different formats can also do so. The file can be uploaded from your system or the URL of the file can be used. The conversion is done on selecting the right format the you get the link to download the converted file.
